The tribute coincided with new signing Jeremie Frimpong scoring to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead.However, Ismaïla Sarr brought the scoreline to 2-2, with the match heading to penalties, where Palace edged out Liverpool (3-2) to lift the title.The Community Shield serves as England’s traditional season opener, featuring a match between the previous season’s Premier League champions and FA Cup winners.
