Telangana lashed by heavy rain: Several districts record over 10 cm; schools shut as downpour continues for 24 hours

HYDERABAD: Many districts in Telangana received more than 10 cm of rainfall over the last 24 hours as the state was soaking in rain for the last few days. Maddukuri in Chandragondu mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem received 127 mm from 8:30 am on August 13 to 7 am on August 14.Heavy rain of 126 mm was received overnight in Jadcherla in Mahubnagar. Parigi in Vikarabad received 125 mm, Mallacheruvu in Suryapet 121 mm, Mammillagudem in Mothey of Suryapet 120 mm, Yellikal in Kalwakurthy in Nagarkurnool district, Velthur in Uppunuthala in Nagarkurnool, Doma in Vikarabad, and Ghanpur in Wanaparthy received 118 mm, and Ghanpur in Wanaparthy 117 mm.Locations in Nagarkurnool, Khammam, Narayanpet, Suryapet, Ranga Reddy, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, and Suryapet received upwards of 100 mm. Considering the heavy rain, a holiday for schools was declared in Suryapet and Khammam.
