Jalalabad to Parshurampuri: Home minister Amit Shah gives nod; MoS Jitin Prasada calls it 'moment of pride'

NEW DELHI: The home minister, Amit Shah, has approved the renaming of Jalalabad to Parshurampuri in Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, the name change has been effected through a letter sent to the Chief Secretary of the state. According to the letter received from the ministry, the government has no objection to changing the name of the city “Jalalabad” to “Parshurampuri. Following the ministry’s approval, Union minister and Pilibhit MP Jitin Prasada expressed his gratitude on the social media platform X. Prasada thanked Home Minister Amit Shah for granting permission for the name change and extended his heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath for their leadership.Calling it a moment of pride for the Sanatani society, Prasada stated that the decision has brought honour and joy to devotees of Lord Parshuram. He further added that he considered himself merely a medium in this “sacred task” made possible by divine grace and prayed for Lord Parshuram’s blessings on the entire world.“Millions of salutations at the feet of Lord Parshuram ji! It is only by your grace that I could become an instrument in this sacred task. May your gracious gaze remain upon the entire world,” he said in a post on X.
