NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday launched a blistering attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav after a video from a rally in Bihar showed abuses being hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother.

Viral video triggers row

A video of the rally has gone viral, where Congress workers on stage were heard using offensive language against PM Modi and his mother during the ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. However, the authenticity of the video has not yet been independently verified.Taking to X, BJP alleged that “From the platform of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav’s journey, extremely offensive language was used against the late mother of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.”

BJP terms it ‘politics at its lowest’

Lashing out at the opposition, BJP termed it politics at its lowest, adding that this incident has “crossed all boundaries of insult, hatred, and vulgarity.” BJP also attacked Rahul and Tejashwi for sharing the stage with Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy during ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. It said that Rahul and Tejashwi “first insulted the people of Bihar by inviting leaders like Stalin and Revanth Reddy, who had previously insulted Biharis, to their journey. Now, their desperation has reached such a level that they are having Prime Minister Modi Ji’s revered late mother abused.“The language used from their platform is so filthy that it cannot even be repeated on a public forum,” it added. BJP further said that even if Rahul and Tejashwi hold their ear and do a thousand sit-ups to apologise, “people of Bihar would still not forgive them.”
