US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned that the United States would become a “Third World Nation” if tariffs imposed by him were struck down by courts. Defending his sweeping tariffs, Trump said that more than $15 trillion will be invested in US, a figure he described as a “record.” His statement came days after a federal court ruled most of his tariffs on nearly all trade partners of US illegal.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said that, “More than 15 Trillion Dollars will be invested in the USA, a RECORD. Much of this investment is because of Tariffs.”

He added that if a “Radical Left Court is allowed to terminate these Tariffs, almost all of this investment, and much more, will be immediately cancelled” and US will become a third-world nation. “In many ways, we would become a Third World Nation, with no hope of GREATNESS again. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!!!” Trump added in his post.

Trump doubles down on his trade policies

Trump, in another post, emphasised that tariffs are strengthening the economy of US, saying that prices were “way down” and that the country is experiencing “virtually no inflation.”“Prices are “WAY DOWN” in the USA, with virtually no inflation. With the exception of ridiculous, corrupt politician-approved “Windmills,” which are killing every State and Country that uses them,” Trump said. He further highlighted that energy prices are falling “big time” and gasoline is at many-year lows, giving credit to “magnificent” tariffs. Trump added that tariffs are “bringing in Trillions of Dollars from Countries that took total advantage” of US for decades and stressed for “making America STRONG and RESPECTED AGAIN!!!”

‘US would be destroyed’

Earlier in the day, Trump said that without tariffs and all of the trillions of dollars collected from them, the US would be destroyed. “Without Tariffs, and all of the TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS we have already taken in, our Country would be completely destroyed, and our military power would be instantly obliterated,” Trump wrote in a post. “In a 7 to 4 Opinion, a Radical Left group of judges didn’t care, but one Democrat, Obama appointed, actually voted to save our Country. I would like to thank him for his Courage! He loves and respects the USA,” he added.
