Raipur shaken by lodge murder: Pregnant teen stabs boyfriend to death, flees; confesses shocking act to mother

RAIPUR: A shocking murder case has come to light in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, where a 16-year-old girl allegedly killed her 20-year-old boyfriend by stabbing him multiple times inside a lodge near Station Road.Police identified the deceased as Mohammed Saddam (20), a native of Bihar and an engineering student at a Raipur college. According to preliminary investigation, Saddam and his girlfriend had checked into a lodge on September 27. CCTV footage showed them leaving the room once, but only the girl was seen exiting on September 28. When neither returned the following day, lodge staff alerted police.

On September 29, Ganj police opened the room with a spare key and discovered Saddam’s body lying in a puddle of blood. He had sustained five stab wounds on his neck, back, and other parts of his body. The crime scene also bore signs of a violent struggle.Police said that after the killing, the girl locked the room from outside, threw away the key on the railway track, and boarded a train to Bilaspur. She later reached her home in Koni and confessed to her mother, who took her to the local police station.The girl reportedly told police she was pregnant and had frequent quarrels with her boyfriend over marriage. She alleged that Saddam threatened to kill her during a heated argument at the lodge. Fearing for her life, she claimed she attacked him while he was asleep around 3 am.Police have recovered Saddam’s phone, which the girl carried with her after the murder. The minor has been handed over by Bilaspur police to Raipur’s Ganj police for questioning.
