IMA condemns doctor’s arrest

Indian Medical Association on Monday condemned a doctor’s arrest in connection with cough syrup deaths, describing it as a classic example of the legal illiteracy of officials and police. “The prescribing doctor has no way of knowing whether a medicine is contaminated until adverse outcomes are reported,” it said.
