A beachgoer in Ibiza found a human foot washed ashore on Playa d’en Bossa, one of the island’s busiest beaches, on Friday morning. The remains were discovered among storm debris by an unidentified man walking along the shore. He alerted authorities, and by approximately 8.00 am (local time), several Spanish National Police patrols had arrived at the scene, as reported by local media.“The incident has caused great commotion among residents and tourists who were walking along the beach at the time,” a source was quoted as saying by Diario de Ibiza. Some witnesses were staying at the nearby Hotel Vibra Algarb, while others were passing by on their way to a local gym.The man who found the foot reportedly used a stick to prevent it from being carried back into the water.Police have not yet established the origin of the limb. Officials told Metro UK that they are “not ruling out any hypotheses” and are continuing to investigate, with no further details released.Authorities are currently investigating whether the death resulted from a violent crime.Officials are also considering a link to recent storms and flooding, which may have carried the foot onto the beach. Ibiza experienced heavy rainfall last week, followed by additional downpours this week after Storm Alice affected the Balearic Islands and the Costa Blanca, as reported by The Sun.The incident follows the recovery of a decomposed body from the sea near Ibiza Town three days earlier, which was brought ashore by coastguards.Investigators have not confirmed a link between the two discoveries.
