She said she did not even notice the song’s meaning at first, but the backlash came fast, mostly from people in the church community.

Sadie Robertson said cancel culture often makes people disappear in fear, but she wanted to do the opposite. She reminded Christians that they should help each other, not celebrate when someone makes a mistake. She also pointed to the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13, saying love should not enjoy hate but stand with truth.
