LUDHIANA: A Kabaddi player, Gurvinder Singh, was allegedly shot and killed in the Samrala block of the Ludhiana district in Punjab. This marks the second such incident involving a Kabaddi player in the region in recent days. The murder has sparked immediate fear and concerns over escalating gang violence in the state.The notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang quickly claimed responsibility for the killing via a post circulated on social media under the name of ‘Anmol Bishnoi’.

The post specifically named individuals allegedly involved in the crime, stating that the murder of Gurvinder Singh was carried out by “Karan Madhpur and Tej Chak.” The claim of responsibility was jointly taken by gang members Harry Boxer and Aarzoo Bishnoi in the social media message.

This incident follows closely on the heels of another fatal attack on a Kabaddi player. On October 31, 2025, a player identified as Tejpal was also murdered in Ludhiana, indicating a disturbing pattern of targeted violence within the sporting community.Local police officials initiated an investigation into the shooting and are currently working to verify the authenticity of the social media posts and identify the suspects named by the gang. Security has been heightened in the Samrala area as authorities attempt to track down the assailants.
