Enraged woman kills husband with stone and pestle, arrested

JAIPUR: A 40-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his wife Friday in a violent domestic quarrel at their home in Pratap Nagar area. Police said the woman repeatedly struck her husband on the head with a grinding stone and steel pestle, killing him on the spot.The accused has been identified as Soni Prajapat (32), a native of Uttar Pradesh, while the victim was Gaurav Kumar Singhal (40), a resident of Sector-19, Pratap Nagar. The couple was married for about four years and lived in Jaipur since. Singhal’s brother has filed an FIR against Soni, police said.

According to a police officer, Singhal, who worked as a technician, had a fight with his wife around 3pm. The fight escalated during which Soni went to the kitchen, took out a grinding stone, and began assaulting her husband.Singhal collapsed from severe head injuries, bleeding profusely. Neighbours, alerted by the woman’s screams, rushed to the house and took the injured man to Jaipuria Hospital, where doctors dared him dead on arrival. tnn
