RAIPUR: A cop, with the help of others, barged into a 53-year-old woman’s house, accused her of performing black magic that allegedly caused his wife’s death, hurled abuse, thrashed her, pulled her by hair and tried to drag her to a cremation ground in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur Sunday. SI Phoolchand Bhagat and seven others were held Sunday and remanded in judicial custody Monday. Gayatri Bhagat, who allegedly convinced ASI that the woman was responsible for his wife’s death, and other accomplices remain at large.
