Earthquake: 4.4-magnitude quake hits Nepal’s Bajhang; no damages reported

A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal’s Bajhang district in Sudur Paschim province on Sunday afternoon, country’s national earthquake monitoring and research centre (NEMRC) said.The quake, recorded at 12:09pm local time, had its epicenter in the Saipal mountain region of Bajhang, according to NEMRC. Officials said there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.Residents in nearby western districts, including Bajura, also felt the tremors, NEMRC added.Nepal, situated in one of the world’s most active tectonic belts – Seismic Zones IV and V – faces frequent earthquakes and remains highly vulnerable to seismic activity.
