Chennai Metro faces disruption: Train halts between Central and High Court station; power glitch suspected

CHENNAI: Commuters faced disruption on the Chennai Metro on Tuesday when a train running between the High Court Station and Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MG Ramachandran Central Metro Station came to an abrupt halt due to a technical issue.Immediate evacuation procedures were carried out, and the affected train was promptly withdrawn from the line to ensure passenger safety.Normal metro operations resumed at 6:20am, Chennai Metro Rail officials confirmed.Initial reports suggest that the disruption may have been caused by power failure, though authorities are reviewing the exact cause.Passengers were reportedly stranded briefly inside the train but were evacuated.Chennai Metro Rail assured commuters that all safety protocols were followed and regular services are now back on schedule.(With agency inputs)
