NEW DELHI: An 11-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by four students inside the bathroom of a govt school in outer Delhi’s Rohini. Police have apprehended all the suspects, aged between 12 and 15, who are accused of recording a video of the assault. The case came to light after the principal, along with the boy’s parents, filed a formal complaint. According to police, during the investigation, the boy told them that he was repeatedly sexually assaulted over a period of two months by a 15-year-old student and his friends —all from the same school. A senior police officer said the boy did not report the assaults earlier due to threats from the accused, who allegedly used a knife to intimidate him. Investigators added that the assaults were video-recorded and circulated among peers. The incident came to the fore when the footage reportedly reached a school teacher, prompting immediate action and the filing of a formal complaint. “A case was registered, and police apprehended the four boys, who were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB). After reviewing the matter, the JJB ordered that the children in conflict with law (CCLs) be sent to the Observation Home for Boys until Dec 19,” the officer said. There have been similar incidents reported in the past, highlighting a worrying pattern of such cases. In July, a 14-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a school washroom in central Delhi. Sources said the boy was experiencing pain, and when the parents asked him, he recounted the ordeal. In another case, a 14-year-old boy from Uttarakhand, who travelled to Delhi to take part in a national-level sports event in April, was allegedly assaulted sexually and filmed by a group of boys at a sports club in northwest Delhi.
