Google has denied reports claiming that the company will bring ads to the Gemini app in 2026. Addressing the rumours, Dan Taylor – Vice President, Global Ads at Google has shared a post on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, Taylor said that the claims made in a recent report about the tech giant bringing ads in Gemini are “inaccurate”. He further added that Google has no current plans to introduce ads in the Gemini app.“This story is based on uninformed, anonymous sources who are making inaccurate claims. There are no ads in the Gemini app and there are no current plans to change that,” Dan Taylor wrote in the post quoting a post by Techmeme that cited AdWeek’s report.Google’s AdLiaison reiterated Talyor’s remarks writing:“Boosting this for others who may have seen the story and had questions. In short, there are no ads in the Gemini app, and there are no current plans to change that.Ads are available in AI Overviews in the US and are expanding to more English speaking countries. We continue to test ads in AI Mode.”

Gemini app hits 650+ million monthly users

In October 2025 during its Q3 2025 earnings, Google revealed that the Gemini app has crossed 650 million active monthly users. Google’s AI-photo generation tool Nano Banana alone contributed to 23 million new Gemini app users in September this year.In another news, Google launched its latest and most-advanced AI model — Gemini 3 last month. Announcing the new model, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the model as “the best model in the world for multimodal understanding.” As reported by Business Insider, analysts are calling launch of Gemini 3 as the most aggressive move made by Google against OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
