J&K: Leopard attacks CRPF cop in Kashmir camp

SRINAGAR: A CRPF head constable was injured after a leopard sneaked into a paramilitary camp in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and attacked him while personnel were having breakfast in the mess. The big cat then fled into a nearby forested area.The injured jawan was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he is reported to be out of danger.The incident comes amid a surge in leopard and bear sightings across Kashmir in recent weeks. On December 17, a leopard attacked and killed a five-year-old girl after she stepped out of her house in a village in south Kashmir.Forest minister Javed Rana said the government is drawing up a comprehensive plan to curb the rising incidents of wild animal attacks.
