Guresome murder rocks Punjab: Wife of ex-additional advocate general Krishna Kumar Goyal found dead

MOHALI: Ashok Kumari Goyal, wife of former additional advocate general Krishna Kumar Goyal, was found strangled to death in her home, while the family’s servant was discovered tied to a chair. According to police, the murder was committed with the intention of robbery. The robbers bound the servant and fled with jewellery and cash. Krishna Kumar Goyal is currently in Muscat visiting his daughter.

Ashok Kumari Goyal (66), wife of former Additional Advocate General of Punjab and Haryana High Court Krishna Kumar Goyal, has been murdered in Mohali. The body was discovered in the morning by a woman working at their house in Phase 5. The Goyals’ housekeeper was found tied to a chair. The woman had been strangled to death. According to police, the murder was carried out with the intention of robbery. The robbers tied up the servant, looted jewellery and cash, and fled. Krishna Kumar Goyal is currently in Muscat to visit his daughter. Considering the servant’s role suspicious, the police have detained him and started questioning him. The servant, identified as Neeraj, is 25 years old and had been working for the Goyal family for nine years. Police are also exploring the angle that the robbers killed the woman but left the servant behind, even though he may have posed a greater threat to them. Additionally, the servant’s statement was ambiguous. He claimed that the robber first banged his head against the wall, but police did not find any injury marks on his head, which raised suspicion and led to his detention for questioning.
