'Kudos to any company who...': Indian-origin entrepreneur on Hilton Hotels refusing room to ICE agents in Minneapolis

Indian-origin American entrepreneur Ramit Sethi, of Netflix’s How to Get Rich fame, slammed the Hilton Hotels but not for refusing rooms to ICE agents in Minneapolis, but for cutting off the independent hotel that did that. Sethi said Hilton should be boycotted for dropping the independent hotel that stood up against the ICE agents. “One of their independent hotel owners in Minneapolis refused to let ICE stay there, so Hilton corporate dropped them as a hotel. Americans hate ICE’s illegal gestapo soldiers & we can’t wait to see them prosecuted. Kudos to any company who stands up against them……NOT Hilton, who we will be boycotting & I encourage you to do the same,” Sethi wrote reacting to the latest developments in Minneapolis.

Hilton Hotels denies room to ICE agents; Minneapolis woman killed by ICE

The Donald Trump administration Monday claimed that a hotel in Minneapolis shut their doors to the ICE agents and said it will not serve ICE agents in Minneapolis. It led to a major row as MAGA called for boycotting Hilton Hotels. The hotel group said they have no such policy to discriminate against ICE agents and it was the independent decision of that specific hotel concerned. Amid boycott calls, Hilton Hotels dropped that hotel from their website and cut it off. But a bigger controversy was in the waiting as an ICE agent shot Minneapolis woman Renee Good, alleging that the woman was trying to mow down ICE officers. Amid a widespread protest in Minneapolis against the ICE deployment, many social media users praised the independent hotel that resisted the ICE agents.

Who are the owners of the independent hotel now axed by Hilton?

The Hampton Inn by Hilton in Minnesota was part of the Hilton Hotels but now has been moved out after they denied entry to ICE agents. Records revealed that the hotel is owned by Parmjit Singh, Amanpreet Hundal, Karandeep Nagra and Mohinderjeet Kaur, all Indian-Americans.
