Budget 2026: Parliament session from January 28-April 2; to be held in two phases

NEW DELHI: Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday announced the dates for Parliament’s Budget session, which he said will be held in two phases from January 28 to April 2.“On the recommendation of the Govt of India, Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji has approved the summoning of both the Houses of Parliament for the Budget Session 2026. The Session will commence on 28 January 2026 and continue till 2 April 2026,” Rijiju posted on X.The parliamentary affairs minister added that the first phase will end on February 13, while the second half will commence on March 9.The Union Budget will be tabled as usual on February 1, which falls on a Sunday this year.
