Calcutta HC declines ED plea for new bench to hear Mamata case

Calcutta high court’s acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul declined on Friday ED’s request to assign its petition seeking a CBI probe against Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, DGP Rajeev Kumar and Kolkata Police commissioner to a new bench. The matter remains before a single-judge bench, which had earlier postponed hearings to Jan 14 after courtroom commotion.
