A United Airlines flight on Sunday afternoon (local time) narrowly avoided a crash landing at Orlando International Airport in the US due to a “mechanical issue,” according to statements from the airline and the airport cited by Fox Orlando.A video of the flight’s landing, widely circulated on social media, appears to show the aircraft moments before touchdown, with the nose wheel seemingly coming off the landing gear.United Flight 2323 departed Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at 8:55am and landed in Orlando at 12:35 pm, according to United Airlines’ website. Officials said the aircraft experienced a “mechanical issue” upon landing, causing it to block the runway, after which passengers were taken to the terminal by bus.United Airlines said the flight was carrying 200 passengers and six crew members. No injuries were reported.The airlines’ also said that its team are involved in the efforts to remove the aircraft from the runway.However, it was not immediately clear what caused the “mechanical issue”.
