Nayanthara, who won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress, has penned a heartwarming note on the win. The Government of Tamil Nadu announced the winners of the state government’s Film Awards for the years 2016 to 2022 on Thursday. Actors Suriya, Dhanush, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Karthi, and Manju Warrier, among others, took home the best actor honors.

Nayanthara says she is ‘blessed’ as she wins the top honor

Nayanthara won the Best Actress award for 2017 for her role in the film ‘Aramm’. In ‘Aramm’, Nayanthara plays the role of a district collector. Another film, ‘Koozhangal’, which she produced with her husband, Vignesh Sivan, also won the 2020 Best Film award. Actor Chellapandi won the Best Child Artist award for the same film.

What’s next for Nayanthara?

On the work front, Nayanthara will be next seen in ‘Patriot’. The film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan, also features superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty in lead roles. Actors Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban are also part of the cast. The film, touted to be a thriller, is slated for release on April 23.
