To boost growing ties, Modi to visit Malaysia on Feb 7

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim will be present at the airport, along with Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, B N Reddy, to receive PM Narendra Modi for his brief but packed visit to Malaysia Feb 7, reports Aradhana Takhtani.The visit is being seen as validation of growing ties between the nations, especially after Anwar’s official tour to India in Aug 2024, which led the upgrade of bilateral relations to Enhanced Strategic Partnership. Malaysia is home to the second largest Person of Indian Origin (PIO) community after the US, and India recently extended registration for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) to 6th generation of PIO descendants.
