After West Bengal row, non-veg back on Vande train
Kamakhya-Howrah Vande sleeper goes non-veg with chicken curry

KOLKATA: Railways introduced chicken curry on Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat sleeper, reversing a veg-only menu that sparked a political storm, reports Ajanta Chakraborty. The curry will vary by direction — Assamese flavours from Kamakhya, Bengali from Howrah.Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Sunday the change days after passengers and Trinamool Congress accused BJP-headed Centre of “policing our plates”. The non-veg option is limited to chicken. Fish will not be served. IRCTC said: “Based on passenger feedback…, it was decided that, for the non-vegetarian option, only a chicken dish (50-60 gms boneless and 70 gms gravy) shall be served…”
