‘Last call at 8.37am’: Ajit Pawar spoke to NCP leader 10 minutes before plane crash in Baramati

BARAMATI: Recording of perhaps the last phone call of late NCP chief Ajit Pawar from the aircraft few minutes before the crash was shared by party functionaries in Baramati on Wednesday.The NCP from Baramati claimed that Ajit Pawar made the call to one of the party workers and his distant relative Shrijeet Patil barely 10 minutes before the crash. The call recording was shared with the media in Baramati in which Ajit Pawar could be heard speaking to Shrijeet and explaining to him how he had selected candidates for Zilla Parishad polls to give representation to all castes.

“The call recording shows Ajit Dada’s thinking of taking every community along without any discrimination,” Shrijeet Pawar said while speaking to the media in Baramati. Shrijeet claimed that he had messaged Ajit Pawar over a selection of some candidates after which the late NCP chief responded to him by calling him. “I messaged him when he was in the aircraft and I think when his phone got a range, he called me to explain his decision only 10 minutes before the crash,” Shrijeet said.Pawar’s last rites were performed with full state honours on January 29 at the premises of Vidya Pratishthan College in Baramati, drawing large crowds of supporters and political leaders.
