Anthropic's Claude 'changes' its 'Home Page' to make fun of Sam Altman's ChatGPT

There appears to be no end to Anthropic’s public jab at Sam Altman-led OpenAI. Days after releasing multiple ads that took aim at ads appearing inside ChatGPT, the AI startup has now updated the homepage of its AI assistant, Claude, with a short introduction that highlights what the company says sets it apart. The page now opens with a line “Hey there, I’m Claude. I’m your AI assistant for working, imagining, and deep thinking”. Below that, the page lists a few key points about the chatbot. These include the ability to “ask me anything,” an emphasis on safety through “guardrails,” and a clear statement that Claude offers “ad-free chats.” X user NIK @ns123abc shared a screenshot of Claude’s new home page with the caption: “Anthropic won’t stop COOKING OpenAI>they just put ‘ad-free chats’ on the welcome screen…lol, someone check on @sama”

Here’s what Claude’s ‘Home Page’ now reads

Hey there, I’m Claude. I’m your AI assistant for working, imagining, and deep thinking. Here’s a few things you should know about me:Ask me anythingChat with me about anything from simple asks to complex ideas!Guardrails keep our chat safe.Ad-free chatsI won’t show you ads. My focus is being genuinely helpful to you.

Anthropic makes Super Bowl ad mocking OpenAI

This comes days after the Claude-maker made its Super Bowl advertising debut with a 30-second spot which pokes fun at the ChatGPT-maker. The commercial dramatised the potential frustration of ads intruding into AI conversations. One of the ads released show a young man doing pull-ups in a park and he asks a muscular bystander for tips on how he can achieve six-packs abs. After listening to his question, the bystander starts with a robotic, chatbot-like response before abruptly pitching ‘StepBoost Max’ insoles, complete with a discount code. The tagline drives the point home: ‘Ads are coming to AI, But not to Claude’.
