Not only laptop, by transforming your phone’s cellular data into a secure, personal Wi-Fi network, users can provide internet to other mobiles, tablet, gaming consoles or even TVs, no matter where you are.Another reason why you should opt for a mobile hotspot from your friend is security because connecting to a public Wi-Fi may come with cyber threats. To truly maximise the benefits of staying connected on the go, understanding how to configure your hotspot, security is key. In this article, we are explaining how you can set up a hotspot on your Android phone or iPhone.How to set up Wi-Fi hotspot on AndroidTop share a mobile connection by hotspot on Android, you can:

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen, Long tap Hotspot to open Settings
  • If you don’t find Hotspot, at the bottom left, tap Edit and drag Hotspot into your Quick Settings.
  • Now, change the name of your hotspot and type-in a password

  • If you don’t want your hotspot to require a password:
  • Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  • Touch and hold Hotspot .
  • Under “Security,” tap None.

You can share your phone’s mobile data with up to 10 other devices via a Wi-Fi hotspot.How to set up Wi-Fi hotspot on iPhonesTo use a Personal Hotspot from an iPhone, users can:

  • In Settings, tap Personal Hotspot
  • Or tap Mobile Service, then Personal Hotspot.
  • Turn on and Allow Others to Join.

How to join a Wi-Fi hotspot:

  • Tap Hotspot to turn it on
  • Open that device’s list of Wi-Fi options.
  • Pick phone’s hotspot name.
  • Enter phone’s hotspot password.
  • Click Connect.
