Shots Fired Outside Rohit Shetty’s Bungalow In Mumbai, Cops Detain Five

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty was in the news recently after around five rounds of bullets were fired outside his Juhu residence earlier this month. Now the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested the main shooter. As per the latest reports, the authorities arrested the main shooter in Rajasthan and took five more accused into custody.

More accused in custody for Rohit Shetty’s residence shooting case

According to a report by IANS, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch caught the shooter in Rajasthan. Additionally, they also arrested five more accused. They are now being brought in the financial capital for further investigation. With these new arrests, a total of 11 people have been arrested in the case so far. Some suspects have also been detained from Uttar Pradesh as part of the wider investigation.

On February 11, five accused in the Rohit Shetty firing case were produced before a special court. The police applied the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, also known as MCOCA. After this, MCOCA was imposed on all the accused in the case. The special MCOCA court sent the five accused to police custody until February 17, 2026. The Mumbai Crime Branch had asked for 15 days of custody, but the court allowed custody only until that date.During the probe, it was found that the vehicle used in the firing was brought from Pune. The Mumbai Crime Branch continues to investigate every link connected to the case. Earlier, after the incident, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In the letter, the association asked the state government to step in and ensure a fast investigation along with proper security.“Rohit Shetty has not only made immense contributions to Indian cinema but has also consistently stood by the nation whenever called upon, extending his support to social causes and national initiatives in times of need in the larger interest of society. It is therefore deeply concerning that such an incident should occur at his residence,” IMPPA said in the letter.
