After getting treated at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for over a week, Dharmendra was brought to his Juhu residence for further treatment. Reportedly, he was put on ventilator support. The actor passed away on November 24, 2025. His funeral took place in Mumbai.

The actor worked in over 300 films in his over six-decade-long career. His popular movies include ‘Sholay’, ‘Dharam Veer’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’, ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh’, ‘Phool Aur Patthar’ and more.The actor was last seen in the film ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead. His performance in Karan Johar’s 2023 romantic film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’ received a lot of appreciation and love from the audience. Dharmendra’s last stint as an actor was in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ikkis’, which was released after his demise.

The Indian movie ‘Boong’, hailing from Manipur, bagged the Best Children’s and Family Film award at BAFTA 2026. The film was backed by Farhan Akhtar. Directed by Lakshmipriya Devi, the movie was in the race to win the award against ‘Arco’, ‘Lilo & Stitch’, and ‘Zootropolis 2’.
