NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday and received a warm welcome at the airport by Israeli Prime Minister and his wife Sara Netanyahu. During the greeting, PM Netanyahu pointed out that the colour of PM Modi’s pocket square matched his wife Sara Netanyahu’s outfit. Upon noticing the match, PM Modi quipped with a laugh, ‘That’s saffron.‘” PM Modi was dressed in traditional Indian attire, wearing a cream-coloured kurta with white churidar, layered with a grey, patterned half-jacket and a saffron pocket square. Sara Netanyahu chose a saffron pantsuit, creating a coordinated visual detail.During the interaction, Sara Netanyahu described India as a “wonderful country,” while PM Netanyahu said, “He (PM Modi) is a wonderful leader,” reflecting the cordial relations between the two leaders.The Prime Minister addressed the Knesset, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to speak at the Israeli Parliament. During his two-day visit from February 25-26, PM Modi will also meet President Isaac Herzog .Earlier, while he was heading to Israel, PM Modi described the visit as an opportunity to further strengthen the “robust and multifaceted strategic partnership” between India and Israel. “India and Israel share a robust and multifaceted Strategic Partnership that has witnessed remarkable growth and dynamism in recent years,” he stated.
