Porsche case: SC grants bail to minor's dad

NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to the father of the minor who was alleged to be driving a Porsche car involved in an accident in Pune last year that left two young software engineers dead. He is accused of tampering with evidence by swapping the blood sample of his son who was allegedly behind the wheel on that fateful night.A bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan granted the father relief after noting that other accused in the case have been granted bail. “We have considered the arguments in light of the material on record as well as the fact that in similar cases this court has already granted relief. We also note that the appellant herein has been in jail for the last 22 months. The appellant has made out a case for bail. Bail granted subject to terms and conditions to be imposed by the trial court,” the bench said.
