Pak intruder caught along international border in J&K’s Samba

JAMMU: Border Security Force (BSF) troops Wednesday detained a Pakistani intruder along the international border in Ramgarh sector of J&K’s Samba district. Later in the day, Kathua SSP Mohita Sharma conducted an extensive security review and inspection of Kathua’s border areas.Officials said BSF personnel manning the border noticed a suspect near Bhaller border outpost in Ramgarh. “The Pakistan national surrendered after being challenged, and initial interrogation revealed that he had inadvertently crossed the border,” an official said, adding that nothing incriminating was found on him.The matter was being investigated for further action, officials said.Meanwhile, Kathua SSP Mohita Sharma conducted an extensive review of border areas to strengthen security and enhance policing in the district. She inspected border police outposts, nurseries, and adjoining areas in Kathua, accompanied by top police officials.The SSP reviewed the existing security grid and assessed ground preparedness to ensure effective coordination among various agencies deployed along the border. Sharma stressed the fortification of surveillance mechanisms and directed the installation of CCTV cameras at all border police posts and naka points to enhance real-time monitoring.Thereafter, the officers patrolled the Haria Chak nursery area, which is considered sensitive from a security perspective. On-the-spot instructions were issued to conduct frequent, thorough searches of nursery areas to detect the presence or movement of suspects. The SSP also emphasised the need to maintain close coordination with residents to ensure the timely flow of information.
