'DJ music masked his cries': UP woman, her lover sedate husband, tie him to cot and slit his throat
Police in Bijnor have arrested a woman, her lover, and his friend for the murder of her husband, Mohammad Mehraj

BIJNOR: Two days after a 30-year-old man was found dead in Piplooti Kalan village under Hasanpur police station of UP’s Amroha district, police claimed to have cracked the case with the arrest of victim’s wife, her lover and his friend.Mohammad Mehraj was sleeping with his wife and two children in a tin-shed when he was murdered on Saturday night. When Mehraj’s father, Momin, reached the house on Sunday morning, he found his son lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. Probe found that the deceased’s wife, Ruhi (28), allegedly staged a drama of being unconscious when the murder took place. The body was sent to the district hospital for autopsy, and a case was registered against unidentified assailants under section 103(1) of BNS, based on a complaint filed by Mehraj’s father.Prove revealed that Ruhi had allegedly been in an illicit relationship with her sister’s brother-in-law, Mohammad Farmaan, for nearly five years, leading to frequent disputes between the couple. On Saturday night, they allegedly sedated Mehraj, tied his hands and legs to the cot on which he was sleeping, and murdered him with a sharp weapon. They first slit his throat and then inflicted injuries on his hands and legs.Initial inquiry suggested that the couple had been living separately within the same house and that the victim was allegedly being denied food by his wife.Villagers said loud DJ music from nearby wedding ceremonies may have masked any cries for help.Superintendent of police Amit Kumar Anand said, “Three persons, including Ruhi, her lover Mohammad Farmaan and his friend Adnaan Ahmad, were arrested and sent to jail on Monday..”“The accused have confessed to their crime,” SP Amit Kumar Anand said.
