Triumph Tracker 400 launched in India: Price, engine specs & key details

Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the new Triumph Tracker 400, priced at Rs 2.46 lakh, ex-showroom. While the name suggests a 400cc motorcycle, the new model is actually the first from the brand to use a downsized 350cc engine for the Indian market. The Tracker 400 takes clear inspiration from flat track racing, combining retro styling with a sporty stance. It features a round LED headlamp with a small front screen, a flat handlebar and a flat seat. Besides, it gets a rather straight fuel tank, racing-style graphics, a side number board with ‘400’ branding and a twin-can upswept exhaust.

Triumph Tracker 400: Engine specs and hardware

Powering the motorcycle is a new TR-series 350cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 40 PS at 8,750 rpm and 32 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This downsized engine is aimed at offering better pricing under India’s tax structure for sub-350cc motorcycles.Last year, India revised the GST structure for two-wheelers. Motorcycles with engines above 350cc now attract 40% tax, while those up to 350cc fall under a lower 18% bracket. This shift makes smaller engines more viable, allowing Triumph to price its bikes more competitively in the segment.
