AHMEDABAD: Gujarat HC directed Kheda district SP to take action against a cop who shared investigation details with a complainant before filing a chargesheet in court.HC ordered the DGP to issue a circular and inform CPs, SPs of all districts “to impart training for awareness of cops in this regard to prevent this kind of incident in future”.In the present case, one Hiren Patel was booked in an alleged funds misappropriation case by his employer, a rice mill owner. Patel approached HC for anticipatory bail, where the complainant raised an objection relying on statements of witnesses.HC noted that the investigator supplied investigation material to the complainant before the filing of the chargesheet. Underscoring the seriousness of the practice, Justice D A Joshi stated: “The said act… goes to show that either he is oblivious upon the fact of the settled proposition of law and/or with some ulterior motive, he has acted in a particular manner.”
