A video going viral on social media shows a pro-Palestine demonstration held outside Fox News headquarters in Manhattan where participants were seen waving Hamas flags and a speaker called for actions “stronger than” the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.During the protest, a man identified as Abdullah Akl, a graduate student at Harvard University, addressed the crowd saying:“We didn’t act enough, if we had acted enough, the headline behind you would read Gaza has been liberated. So our work has not been done. We will show up stronger than first October 7th, louder than the first October 7. We make it clear, we are not going anywhere, we will keep fighting, until Palestine is free from the river to the sea, in our lifetime.”IIt is not clear when the demonstration took place. But it comes just days after October 7, marking two years since the Hamas-led attack on Israel that killed over 1,200 people. Video footage from the protest showed participants chanting slogans, waving Palestinian and Hamas-affiliated flags, and expressing support for continued resistance. The US based organisation StopAntisemitism posted clips of Akl’s speech on social media platform X, raising concerns about potential incitement. The group also alleged that Akl had previously in 2024 appeared in a video calling to “bomb Tel Aviv,” and currently works with MPower Change, a US Muslim advocacy group founded by activist Linda Sarsour.“Why is this jihadist able to incite violence so openly in NYC?” the organisation asked in its post, referring to Akl’s remarks. It also alleged that Akl has also been linked with Nerdeen Kiswani, founder of the group Within Our Lifetime (WOL), known for organizing pro-Palestinian rallies in New York.
