AAP’s student wing ASAP to contest DUSU polls, promises ‘transparent, issue-based politics’

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party’s student organisation, ASAP, has announced that it will contest the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections. ASAP said it will allocate election tickets through a transparent process. Students wishing to contest must register by August 25, submit a one-minute audio or video stating their issues, and present an agenda of 200–500 words. For college union posts, candidates need support from 10 students across five sections, and for DUSU posts, support from 50 students across five colleges. Candidates must have full class attendance, no academic backlogs, and a clean disciplinary record. ASAP has positioned itself as an alternative to ABVP and NSUI, which have traditionally dominated student politics at the university.
