Apple Chief Financial Officer drops a ‘big hint’ at end of 2025 lineup for this device

Apple Chief Financial Officer, Kevan Parekh recently hinted that the company may not launch any more Macs this year. During its latest earnings call, Parekh said that Apple expects Mac sales in the fourth quarter of 2025 to be lower compared to the same period last year, mainly because there were major launches in 2024 — including new MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models — while this year’s lineup is much quieter. “On Mac, keep in mind, we expect to face a very difficult compare against the M4 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac launches in the year-ago quarter,” he said. This suggests that Apple doesn’t plan to release any more Mac devices before the end of 2025.

Earlier this month, the company introduced a refreshed 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M5 chip. However, Apple did not release models featuring higher-end M5 Pro or M5 Max chips, and both the Mac mini and iMac were left untouched.Reports now indicate that Apple may push the launch of its next MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models — all expected to feature the M5 series chips — to 2026. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro are also said to be on track for updates next year. There’s also speculation about a more affordable MacBook powered by Apple’s A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip, which could arrive in early 2026. This model is expected to succeed the MacBook Air M1, still available in the U.S. through Walmart for $599.
