Bengaluru horror: Married man stabs lover to death in Pillanna Garden; arrested

BENGALURU: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her alleged lover at Pillanna Garden Friday night.Renuka, a divorcee, worked as a domestic help. The accused, Ambedkar alias Kutti, 50, runs a printing press.Based on early investigations, police said Renuka was walking near BBMP High School at Pillanna Garden around 9.30pm when Kutti fought with her on the road. He stabbed her in the chest and abdomen. When she tried to resist, he stabbed her hands too before escaping from the spot, police said, adding that the woman suffered at least eight knife injuries.A severely injured Renuka managed to reach Periyar Nagar circle, some 110 metres away from the school. Passersby took her to the nearby Dr Ambedkar Hospital, where she died.Kadugondanahalli police registered a case of murder based on a complaint filed by Renuka’s sister who said the victim had been harassed by the man. Renuka was living with her mother and an 11-year-old daughter.Saturday, police nabbed Kutti, who claimed he had been in a relationship with the woman.Police have seized the knife from Kutti, who is married and has no children.
