Hyderabad horror: Realtor kills wife with cricket bat over suspicion of infidelity; son alerts family

HYDERABAD: Suspecting her of infidelity, a real estate businessman killed his wife by hitting her on the head with a cricket bat in Ameenpur on Sunday. The victim, C Kishnaveni, 37, was an assistant manager at the district co-operative central bank (DCCB). Police have registered a murder case against the accused, Venkata Brahmaiah, and taken him into custody. The couple, who are from Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, reside in KSR Colony in Ameenpur with their two children, a son and a daughter. Police said that Brahmaiah frequently quarrelled with his wife over her fidelity. On Sunday also, the couple had a heated argument at around 8 am. In a fit of anger, Brahmaiah picked up a nearby cricket bat and hit her on the head. Kishnaveni died at the scene. Police told TOI that when the couple started arguing, their son, who was in the next room, called his grandparents to tell them about the fight.Realising that his mother was lying in a pool of blood, the class 8 student informed his grandparents and neighbours, who called the local police. Police have registered a case against Brahmaiah and seized the cricket bat that was used in the murder.
