NYC nightclub shooting: Three dead, nine injured as people run to escape - Watch

A shooting inside a Brooklyn nightclub early Sunday left three people dead and nine others injured, in what police described as a gang-related attack. The incident took place around 3:30 a.m, local time, at Taste of the City Lounge in Crown Heights after a dispute broke out. Police commissioner Jessica Tisch said investigators believe up to four shooters were involved. No arrests have been made so far. Calling it “a tragic, senseless act of violence,” Tisch said the victims ranged in age from 19 to 61. A 19-year-old man died at the scene, while two others, aged 27 and 35, died later in hospital. The rest are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police recovered at least 42 shell casings and a firearm nearby.

People race to escape mass shooting at nightclub in Brooklyn

The attack marks the city’s second mass shooting in weeks. On July 29, four people were killed, including a police officer, when a gunman opened fire inside a Manhattan office tower. Mayor Eric Adams said the Brooklyn shooting underscored the need to keep guns off the streets. “This is the second within weeks, and we don’t want this to turn into a normal course of doing business of violence in our city,” he said. Crisis management teams have been deployed to support families and prevent retaliation. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact the NYPD tip line. “If you were inside the club, if you heard individuals talking about this shooting, if you witnessed someone fleeing the location, every piece of information will allow us to put the puzzle together,” Adams said. Despite the incident, officials noted that New York has recorded the lowest number of shootings and victims in the first seven months of 2025. Tisch said the attack was an anomaly but vowed to “get to the bottom of what went down.”
