Madhya Pradesh shocker: Class 2 student found dead under mysterious circumstances in school hostel; probe underway

BHOPAL: A Class 2 student was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the hostel of Gyan Ganga School, Khajuraho, Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday morning.Police said the boy, identified as Anurag (7), did not wake up when his roommate tried to rouse him. School authorities then informed Bamitha police.It was reported that there were blue marks on the child’s body, though no external injuries.The possibility of poisoning or an insect bite cannot be ruled out. The exact cause of death will be clear after the post-mortem, police suspect.Anurag’s father, Bablu Patel told police his son had been admitted to the school hostel just a month ago. He was absolutely fine on Sunday night. At 6 am, the school informed them that he was unwell. By the time they reached, he had already died. He had no prior illness, Patel added.School operator Pramod Trivedi told local media that the institution does not officially run a hostel. He said they only provide food and accommodation for children who come from distant places. About 45 children stay here. The boys were playing at night, but in the morning, Anurag was found dead, he said.Police have registered a case and are awaiting the autopsy report.
