NIA arrests another J&K doctor in Delhi car blast case

SRINAGAR: A doctor from north Kashmir’s Baramulla has become the eighth suspect to be arrested for his alleged role in the terror module responsible for the Nov 10 Delhi car blast in which 15 people died, NIA announced on Tuesday. The agency identified Bilal Naseer Malla as a co-conspirator who allegedly harboured and provided logistical support to suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi, a J&K native who worked at Faridabad’s Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences & Research Centre. “He is also accused of destruction of evidence related to the terrorist attack,” NIA said.J&K Police’s investigation into the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module involving “white-collar workers” predates the car blast by three weeks.Investigators arrested Arif Nisar Dar, Yasir-ul-Ashraf and Maqsood Ahmad Dar from Nowgam on Oct 19 after Jaish posters threatening security personnel appeared in the Srinagar neighbourhood of Bonpora. A fourth arrest – of a cleric known as “Mufti Sahab” – led to the unravelling of a conspiracy that security agencies would later link to the car blast near Red Fort.
