UAE: Four Indian siblings and maid killed in Abu Dhabi road accident

Four Indian siblings and their family’s domestic worker were killed in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday, The National reported. The family, originally from Kerala, was returning to their home via Abu Dhabi-Dubai motorway after attending the Liwa Dates Festival, when the accident occurred in ShahamaThe four boys—Ashaz, 14; Ammar, 12; Azam, 8; and Ayash, 5—were traveling with their parents, Abdul Lateef and Ruksana, and their 10 year old sister, Izza.Ashaz, Ammar, and Ayash died instantly, while Azam succumbed to his injuries on Monday evening at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital. The parents and Izza remain hospitalized and are receiving treatment. The family’s 48 year old domestic worker, who was also traveling with them, died in the accident. In keeping with the family’s wishes, the four boys will be buried in the UAE, while the maid’s body will be flown back to Kerala for burial with her family. The welfare group is providing support to the family, including hospital care and assistance with funeral arrangements.The incident has deeply affected the local community. Friends, relatives, and neighbours have expressed grief over the loss of the children and their caretaker. Authorities and support groups continue to provide assistance to the survivors as they recover from the tragedy.
