Omar Abdullah govt has failed J&K people, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti alleges on dad’s anniversary

SRINAGAR: Omar Abdullah govt in J&K is indifferent to the plight of the people, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti told a gathering on the tenth death anniversary of her father and PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at his mausoleum in Anantnag district’s Bijbehara on Wednesday.“I am living for my father’s dream of seeing the people of J&K live with dignity,” she said, accusing the state govt of turning a deaf ear to people’s protests against the proposed 26-km railway line between Kakapora in Pulwama and Kunsoo in Shopian.Mehbooba said the railway project will eat up locals’ livelihood as the tracks would cut through some of the valley’s most productive apple orchards.“But the J&K govt is indifferent to the issue… the people have given Omar a huge mandate, but he remains focused on targeting PDP, instead of addressing problems of people,” she alleged.
