Kannada actress Karunya Ram files a police complaint against sister Samrudhi Ram over an alleged financial dispute

Kannada film and television actress Karunya Ram has lodged a police complaint against her younger sister Samruddhi Ram, bringing a personal family dispute into the public eye. The complaint was filed at the RR Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru. According to Karunya’s complaint, Samruddhi allegedly became involved in betting activities, which resulted in heavy financial losses amounting to approximately ₹25 lakh. It is alleged that these losses, along with business-related setbacks, led Samruddhi to borrow money from private individuals. Karunya has claimed that cash and gold from the family household were used to repay these debts, causing severe financial strain on the family. Samruddhi Ram, who has previously worked as a makeup artist and beauty professional, has also appeared in a few television serials such as Raja Rani and Mane Devru. In recent times, however, she has reportedly stepped away from acting and focused on business ventures. The situation reportedly escalated when creditors began visiting the family home repeatedly, demanding repayment. Karunya stated that when family members questioned Samruddhi about the missing money and valuables, she allegedly left the house and stopped responding. The complaint further mentions that the repeated visits by lenders caused mental distress to the family. Karunya also raised concerns about unwanted attention and comments on social media, which she claims added to the pressure. In her complaint, Karunya has named Samruddhi Ram and a few others in connection with the case. The police have taken up the matter and are conducting an investigation to verify the allegations and ascertain the facts. More details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
