US President Donald Trump on Thursday warned Canada that the United States could impose a 50% tariff on all aircraft sold in the country. The move comes as tensions rise between Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Trump said the threat was in response to Canada refusing to certify jets from Savannah, Georgia-based Gulfstream Aerospace. “If, for any reason, this situation is not immediately corrected, I am going to charge Canada a 50% Tariff on any and all Aircraft sold into the United States of America,” he wrote on social media platform Truth Social.

He added that the US would also decertify all Canadian aircraft, including planes from the country’s largest aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier.
