Suicide pact? Greater Noida couple dead; their 3 kids found poisoned, saved in time

NOIDA: A couple died and their three children were found poisoned at their home in Greater Noida’s Ecotech 3 area on Thursday, triggering an investigation into suspected poisoning. The children, aged 10, 8 and 4, were hospitalised and are now stated to be out of danger.According to police, the couple, Shravan Pal (40) and his wife Neelam (38), are originally from Prayagraj, but had been living in Sadullapur village for several years. Shravan was employed at a printing press in Sector 63.The incident came to light around 7am when the couple’s eldest daughter woke up and found her parents unconscious in their bedroom. The child, who also complained of severe stomach pain, managed to alert neighbours who eventually called the police. A police team from Ecotech 3 shifted the couple and their three children, who also exhibited symptoms of poisoning, to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors declared the couple dead on arrival, but said the children were responding well to treatment. They were later shifted to a hospital in Delhi for further care.Preliminary investigations suggest that the couple may have consumed poison late at night, allegedly over domestic or family-related issues. Additional DCP Santosh Kumar said, “The bodies have been sent for autopsy, and an investigation is underway.” He added that the exact cause of death would be determined after the autopsy reports were received.Police said they were recording statements from neighbours and relatives. Awadh Narayan, Neelam’s brother, said he was informed early Thursday that the couple had fallen ill. “By the time I reached, they had already been taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Doctors declared them dead on arrival,” he said. He added that while the couple appeared to be doing well, he was unaware of any personal or domestic issues they may have been facing.
