KOTTUR (VIJAYANAGAR): In a shocking incident, a man has allegedly murdered his father, mother, and sister, and buried their bodies inside a rented house in the town. The crime reportedly took place on Jan 27.The accused is Akshay Kumar, from Doddakittadahalli village in Hosadurga taluk of Chitradurga district. Police said Akshay killed his father Bhimraj, mother Jayalakshmi, and sister Amrutha, at a house in Kottur where they had been living for the past few years. The family was engaged in tyre-retreading for a living.

After committing the crime, Akshay reportedly travelled to Bengaluru and attempted to mislead the police by lodging a missing-persons complaint at the Tilak Nagar police station, claiming his parents and sister were untraceable. However, during sustained interrogation, he allegedly broke down and confessed to the triple murder.The motive behind the killings is yet to be ascertained, police said, adding that further investigation is under way.Vijayanagara SP S Jahnavi and Kudligi DSP Mallesh rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation. The accused is being brought to Kudligi to find the exact location where the bodies are buried.
